this volume of the 1772 Nouveau Dictionnaire Historique has at some stage been converted to a book box preserving the first 64 pages of text to conceal the carved out box space.

edition de luxe, limited to 350 numbered copies signed by the author and illustrator. eden phillpotts wrote several allegorical fantasies using greek mythology to develop themes with contemporary significance. The Girl and the Faun is the first.
