Fox At Hispanic Summit continued from page 98

broke the stranglehold that the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party had held on the state for seven decades. A charismatic reformer, Fox is credited as playing a vital role in Mexico’s democratization, and with strengthening the country’s economy. During his tenure, Fox succeeded in controlling infl ation and interest rates, and in achieving the lowest unemployment rate in all of Latin America. In his business life, Fox rose to president of Coca-Cola, after starting with the beverage company as a route supervisor and delivery truck driver in 1964. Fox will be joined on the agenda by an impressive lineup of speak-

ers, from retailers, consumer product goods manufacturers and leading multicultural marketing experts, to consultants and agencies. Last year’s summit attracted approximately 450 attendees composed of retailers from across all channels of retailing and foodservice, major consumer products goods manufacturers, advertising agencies and consultants. Attendees included representatives from such major retailers as: 7-Eleven, Aldi, Kroger, BP, TJX Cos., Walmart, Best Buy, The Pantry, Food Lion, Kum & Go, Winn-Dixie, Papa John’s, Payless Shoe Source, Sears Holding, Family Dollar, Staples, Advance Auto Parts, and more. ■
