Hire the BATUS 2 Bedroomed Hotel Suite, located in Canmore 20 minutes south of Banff just outside the Banff National Park. Very competitive Hotel rates are also available through the General Fund Office.


The General Fund is in essence the Unit PRI with all the normal PRI facilities that support the community where possible.


The facilities located in Ralston Village are available for all serving personnel and their dependants. Most facilities are provided by the Canadian Forces through Personnel Support Programs (PSP). In order to use these facilities all dependants require a PSP pass which can be obtained from the gym on arrival in BATUS. Serving personnel can use their ID in order to use these facilities. Gymnasium: Located in Ralston Village, the gym offers a large gym floor, aerobic area, weight room, fitness studio and squash court.


Open recreation hours are: Mon-Fri


0915 – 1115hrs 1330 – 1530hrs 1730 – 2200hrs Weekends and Holidays 1300 – 2100hrs


Aerobic and other exercise classes are often held in the gym. MFRC holds details of current and upcoming classes, for which there is a small charge.


The squash court should be booked in advance through the gym on 403 544 5570. The opening times for the squash court are as follows:

Swimming Pool The swimming pool is co-located with the gym. It offers public swimming times which are open to all and are free of charge. The pool also offers swimming lessons for both adults and children, as well as aquasize classes. There is a charge for classes. Ask for a schedule for opening hours, lesson and aquasize times and charges at the gym main office.


Driving Range Located behind the married quarter area in Ralston Village (summer only)

Tokens for the Golf Driving Range are available at the Gym Main Office for $2.00 Ice Arena


The Ice Arena is located in Ralston Village and is open from late September through to April. It offers free public skating daily. It is also possible to sign up for skating and/or ice hockey lessons, as well as joining a BATUS ice hockey team and playing
