Prescriptions. Prescription for troops and civilians at the Base Medical Centre are free. Prescriptions from the Bas Medical Centre are only valid there. They are not valid at pharmacies in town.
Troops may obtain their medications between 0800 – 1200hrs at the Pharmacy.
Those civilians who are registered at the Base Medical Centre, will be issued with their medication at the time of their appointment, or be able to collect them later if they need to be ordered in.
Patients who are registered at Canadian Practices must take their doctors prescriptions to a Canadian pharmacy. If they take them to the following pharmacies they will be able to collect them free.
Pharmasave, Redcliff, Wal-Mart Pharmacy, Medicine Hat, Pharmasave (Boylan’s) Pharmacy, Medicine Hat.
All other pharmacies will charge for prescriptions, but you will be reimbursed as appropriate. Please note that not all prescription drugs will be paid for by BATUS, in particular, slimming drugs, some nicotine aids, homeopathic drugs. You are advised to seek approval from the SMO beforehand.
Health Visiting Service The SSAFA Health Visitor, in conjunction with Palliser Health Nurses, offers an ante and post natal service as well as a full service to children under 5 and their families.
