Children of BATUS families attend Canadian Schools whilst in Canada and follow the Alberta Programme of Studies, not the UK National Curriculum. The High School system in Canada is very different from that in the UK, and from 14/15 onwards, students work towards their high school diploma. This is a 3 year programme of study, and is NOT transferable to the GCSE or ‘A’ level system of England and Wales or the Scottish secondary education system of examinations. Therefore, families are strongly advised to carefully consider the option of bringing their children to Canada if they have already embarked upon, or about to embark, the GCSE programme of study.
