The 5,300 NLH EPT Barcelona main event made history as the biggest tournament ever to be held in Spain with a fi eld of 758 and a prize-pool of 3,790,000.

Swede Kent Lundmark, 22, took down the fi rst prize of 825,000 after beating Spanish pro Jesus Cortes Lizano

heads-up. “It’s an amazing feeling,” said Lundmark. “This

is one of the biggest tournaments you can win in poker. I’ve been running good all tournament, I was very lucky. In the heads-up, I just kept getting good cards. I always felt in control.” The win was Lundmark’s third EPT cash, by far his best live ever result. In March, he was runner-up

in the Nordic Masters of Poker, earning $69,000, and in January he was the longest-lasting Swede at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas, fi nishing 29th place for $66,000. As part of his prize he also won a seat worth 10,000 to the EPT Grand Final. Runner-up Jesus

Cortes Lizano, also 22, from Zaragoza, earned 525,000 for second place - the biggest single EPT cash recorded by a Spanish player. The previous record was held by Santiago Terrazas who won 300,000 when he fi nished in third place in Barcelona last season.
