Sebastian Homann, 23, took down the World Poker Tour Marrakech 4,250 + 750 Main Event presented by Chilipoker.com at Casino de Marrakech, Morocco at the end of November.





Homann, from Hamburg, Germany produced one of the most dominant performances in recent WPT history


as he crushed the fi eld, holding the chip lead from Day 1A and conceding it only briefl y during heads-up play.


Homann took home 254,745 including


a $25,500 entry into the 2011 WPT World Championship at Bellagio in Las Vegas. Homann started as chip leader at a fi nal table where the most recognizable name was his fellow countryman Dominik Nitsche. Despite a small comeback by eventual runner-up Guillaume Cescut, Homann’s dominance never looked in danger. “I felt so good today and really good about my game all week,” said Homann. “I am a recreational player and this is by far my biggest win, I intend to put the money towards a new house and maybe a nice holiday with my girlfriend. I defi nitely intend to play more live tournaments now and am thrilled to have got entry into the $25k WPT World Championship – this takes everything to a whole new level. I will have to play more to prepare for the standard of opposition I am going to get there.”


Cescut, a pro from Paris for Team Barriere was pragmatic: “It always looked like it was going to be Sebastian’s day but my time will come again.

In other events during the festival Swede Henrik Granlund picked up 39,897 for his win in the 550 Deep Stack Open. Sara Herzali of France took down the 500 Short Handed for 17,550 and Rogier Punt of the Netherlands collected 8,714 after winning the 500 Omaha event.

Das Geld möchte ich in ein neues Haus und vielleicht in einen schönen Urlaub mit meiner Freundin investieren. Ich werde jetzt defi nitiv mehr Live- Turniere spielen und freue mich schon wahnsinnig auf die $25k WPT World Championship – dadurch wird alles auf eine ganz neue Stufe gehoben. Ich werde mehr spielen müssen, um auf das Niveau der dortigen Gegner vorbereitet zu sein.“ Der Zweitplatzierte Cescut, ein Pariser Profi aus dem Team Barriere, äußerte sich pragmatisch: „Es war die ganze Zeit spürbar, dass es Sebastians Tag werden würde, aber meine Zeit wird auch wieder kommen. Ich freue mich schon sehr auf die WPT National Series Event, die im Februar im Aviation Club in Paris stattfi nden wird – ein Heimspiel für mich.“ Die französischen Stars Nicolas Levi und


Roger Hairabedian erreichten gute Plätze im Geld. David Benyamine, Carlos Mortensen, Bertrand ‘Elky’ Grospellier, Alexandre Gomes, Surinder Sunar, Tristan Clemencon, Antoine Saout, Guillaume Darcourt und Jean Paul Pasqualini hingegen schieden bereits vor den bezahlten Plätzen aus.

interessante Events: Das 550 Deep Stack Open im Wert von 39.897 ging an den Schweden Henrik Granlund. Sara Herzali aus Frankreich gewann das 500 Short Handed und durfte sich über 17.550 freuen, und der Niederländer Rogier Punt sicherte sich die Siegprämie in Höhe von 8.714 im 500 Omaha Event.
