Kix Mag: Frsh Ent how did the team start? FrSH Ent: A long time ago you know, 2004/05, friends from the area, everybody wanted to make music, came together, and that was it; like me (Flips), I’ve been making beats for a long time, Jak’s been making video’s for a long time; everyone else, has been rapping a real long time too
(Lefty) “I want them to remember me like Tupac”.
Kix: What made you all come up with the name FrSH Ent? G FrSH: It was just to represent something, new and fresh, I suppose, that was the main idea, behind the name.
Kix: So In the team, there’s the directing, fashion, producing and the main entity of rapping; what made the team branch into other dimensions? GFrsh: Basically we did music initially, and then we saw that everyone else got paid apart from the actual musicians; So in going into other creative fields, we we’re then able to be at the receiving end of the pay check; So in trying to do that, it made alot of sense in us branching out.
Kix: Jak FrSH; Directing, when did you first really get into the whole filming, video directing field?
Jak FrSH: Well, I always knew I’d do something, to do with the visual side of things; So then it just happened and devel- oped; Like we did our first video in 2004 and it went from there. Then I went to uni, studied dig- ital media, then got a Job with MTV, then left MTV. Now I’m a freelancer.
Kix: Jak; I’ve actually been on set of one of your video sets, Wretch 32’s ‘Be Cool’
what do you believe sets you apart from other director? Jak FrSH: Wow, you remember, it was hot that day wasn’t it? (RoRo)-Yeah it was very hot, for once in London.
Jak Continues- hmm I don’t really know, because whatever I say, someone else will have an opinion on it. Lefty London: I think it’s his angles the way he interprets his visuals; Jak continues- well the whole point of it, music and entertain-
Lefty: I want them to remember me like Tupac. (Every body laughs). Nah, like at the minute, just remember me with fun; like my new video coming out, the vibe I get from it is fun. Like at the moment, there’s not much fun music, but I’m making it entertaining.
Kix: Also what inspires you to do what you do? Lefty:Music itself, inspires me to make music; like when I hear other peoples music, life
ment visually, is for the viewers interpretation; so a question like that can only be answered, by the audience or the viewers.
Kix: Lefty London; with your art in the industry, what do you want people to remember when they hear about you?
experiences incorporates itself into your music , but then other peoples music and music in general, makes me want to make music.
Kix: Question for the group. Looking at the UK music indus- try today; what kind of place do you think it’s in, where do you think it stands at the moment? Dice FrSH: I think it’s standing very strong right now, like I think we have our own avenue, and now we’re exploiting that to the best of our ability, it’s a good look.
Kix: G-FrSH where do you think you stand in the music indus- try right now, in the scene; looking at everybody else in the
industry where do you think you would place yourself? G-FrSH: Erm, I asked people on twitter the other day, because I getting worried that I was getting boxed in, because normally, people
