Kix: Well it’s a pleasure to have you here, can you tell our readers what it is you do? And how long you’ve been doing it for?
Jareth: I am a singer /
songwriter, originally from North West London. I have been involved in music for nearly 4 years now. Started out really randomly, literally got tricked into it by my cousin. She made me meet a young producer she knew, under false pretences. She claimed that he needed anyone who can hold a note to sing 2 lines in some song. I only agreed to do it because she said she would do it too. This was a lie LOL. I had no urge or ambition to be involved in music before then, I was going to be an actress. But after I fell into it that day it’s followed me like a bad smell. I am now at one with the smell. I love the smell and it loves me, we have an arrangement.
Kix: What’s life like on Flawless Records? Is it as ‘Flawless’ as the name presents? Jareth: Gonna sound incredibly cringe but it’s true, it’s like family. There is support on all levels and PASSION. I can’t really
complain as they deliver. This industry is so gassed up no wonder people’s heating bills are increasing. People talk a good talk in this industry and I am lucky to have been discovered by them before I met too many of these characters who can talk for England and only deliver dust, at a price!
Kix: ‘Rude Endz’ is a catchy track. I noticed a little hint of the gospel sound in it. Jareth: Gospel? Oh you mean the choir thing I did on it, with the really low deep
harmony that sounds like it’s in a church..., Yeah I see how you thought that, in that sense but otherwise in content, so not gospel! Yeah I remember when I recorded it. I have this fear of harmonies (it’s a really inconvenient phobia being a singer and all), so you can imagine me and my producer, Siggi nearly cried with happiness when I did that. Okay that’s probably a slight exaggeration. I honestly have no idea whether it will end up being released at this stage, we are still working it all out. But I will let you know as soon as.
Kix: What does your average day consist of? Jareth: I wake up. Exfoliate my face with apricot scrub do the bathroom thing etc...Switch on the broadband and pretend to myself it will only take 5mins to check my emails… an hour later I start my
day..this usually consists of spending a million hours travelling on the underground to go to various studio sessions. The sessions are always amazing. Not to sound cringe but just being able to do what I love for a living is insane I feel truly blessed.
Kix: Ultimate goal?
Jareth: I’m realistic with my goals, so in short I demand the impossible.
Kix: How do you get your Kix? Jareth: This is a lifestyle manual guide right? So I couldn’t possibly answer that question truthfully, it would be uncouth LOL.
Final word-Shout outs to my people’s aka “my mad tings” you know your own names so I really don’t need to say it right? LOL
