PRODUCT Choice Metamark, Martin and Malta
If you live in the United Kingdom, Malta is a very long way to go for an ice cream. Should the urge take you though, it’s likely that you’ll find yourself stopping one of Mr. Whippy’s fleet of very conspicuous ice cream vans as it does its rounds on the island in the sun. If you live in Malta, the United
Kingdom is a very long way to go to buy the self adhesive vinyl you need to run your very successful sign and graphics business but that’s exactly what MG Signs’ owner, Martin Galea does and he chooses to shop at Metamark. MG Signs has a great reputation
on the island and Martin Galea is a highly regarded exponent of airbrush. Recently though, the company has added digital printing to the range of services it extends to its clients and has equipped itself with a Jeti 3312. Ice cream seller, Mr Whippy,

the idea of having a digital livery applied - this initially met with some resistance. Martin used Metamark MD7 for the
job and laminated the potent-coloured output with Metaguard MG900, MD7’s matching laminate as a protection measure against Malta’s very sunny climate and the inevitable battle-rash vehicles like ice cream vans encounter. MG Signs was more than happy with the quality it managed to achieve and with the way the MD7 and MG900 material construction applied despite its meeting a challenging surface. According to Martin Galea, the combination is very forgiving and the colour really pops. The client evidently also liked the
work and is now a digital convert. The worth of the digital output was proven some days after the fleet was finished when one of its number came back to MG Signs for repair work having been involved in a minor collision. MG Signs reprinted the required part of the livery using another roll of Metamark MD7 and MG900 and the applied patch matches the pre existing work perfectly. For further information on the
