Toy Appeal. Once again the Lions are launching their Toy Appeal and asking the people of Hyndburn if they would donate new and nearly new toys and games (but not soft toys) so they can help families less fortunately than themselves. Last Christmas we were able to provide toys for 150 children with the assistance of the various agencies who supported these families in the Hyndburn area. Now is the time for mums to make room for new toys and presents arriving from Father Christmas. Please, if you can bring them to our collection point. Bob Hope on Golf. There are over one hundred and fifty golf clubs in Palm Springs, and Gerry Ford is never sure which one he’s going to play until after his second shot. Whenever I play golf with Gerry Ford I like to make it a four ball. Gerry, me, a paramedic, and a faith healer. Some of these legends have been around golf a long time. When they mention a good grip they are usually talking about their dentures. Gerry Ford has a wonderful short game. Unfortunately it’s off the tee.
