2 plastic rings – 16mm diameter (we got ours from www.threadofl ife.co.uk)


2 earring wires 2 jump rings


Pliers (not strictly necessary, you can use your fi ngers)

The earrings are worked in the round, with the right side facing throughout. Instead of plastic rings, we used curtain rings, but rubber washers also work well!


Designer biography


Denise was taught to crochet by her mother at a very young age and has had a very creative upbringing. She now works in creative circles, having given up her nine-to-fi ve job as a language teacher. Denise is a craft educator as well as a crochet designer ‒ she just loves to design and teach crochet!


EARRINGS (MAKE 2)


Rnd 1: 30dc into plastic ring. For fi rst dc ‒ hold yarn and hook as normal, place the ring between your fi ngers in front of the slip knot. Work fi rst dc into the ring from


front to back, as if working into a magic ring. Continue in this way for remaining 29dc. Sl st in fi rst dc to join. (30sts) Rnd 2: *Ch 5, sl st in fi fth dc, rep from * around ending with the last sl st in the same space as sl st from previous round. (5 ch-5 sps) Rnd 3: *8dc in ch sp, rep from * around. Work a sl st in same space as sl st from previous round. (Five petals) Fasten off .


Weave in ends. Finishing


Open the jump ring a little (with your fi ngers or pliers).


Slide the jump ring into a vertical strand at the back of the fl ower, between two petals.


Use up yarn remnants in your stash to create these stylish earrings.

Then slip the earring hook onto the jump ring, ensuring it is facing the correct way. Using your fi ngers or pliers, close the jump ring by pulling the open side towards you.


Repeat for second earring.
