Rep rows 1 and 2 once more then only row 1 again with MC. Work row 2 in CC.

SCALLOP EDGE Row 1: Using MC and with WS facing, join with a sl st in rev dc in left front corner, 1ch, dc in same rev dc, 8ch, skip next 8rev dc, dc in next rev dc; rep from * to end. Turn. BACK BUTTON BAND 31ch, dc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (30 dc) Row 1: 2ch, htr in each dc across, turn. Repeat row 1 three more times. Fasten off .
Sew a 3.2cm/1¼in button to each end of the band using sewing needle and thread. Try on garment and sew placket in place.
FINISHING Weave in all ends. Block to measurements.
Using sewing needle and thread, sew hook and eye closures to 2.5cm/1in length of grosgrain ribbon (fold the raw edges in toward the centre to make a clean edge). Then sew the ribbon with the closures attached to the WS of three scallop edges across front bust, making sure it is hidden.
