With winter fast approaching, this issue is about starting your queue of projects to crochet for the colder months. We’ve got some fantastic cosy garments and accessories – Melissa Horozewski’s Houndstooth Coat (p44) is a fabulously contemporary pattern that I’m sure you’ll have in your wardrobe for years to come. Linda Permann’s Petal Beret (p70) transcends the seasons due to its lightweight warmth and the fl oral-style pattern on the crown is so pretty. Our How To Crochet Extra features the revolutionary magic foundation row, which is used in Shannon Mullet-Bowsby’s pretty Damson Tunic (p6) – an essential for autumn layering. Closer to home, I’m settling in very well here at Inside Crochet towers – the people are lovely, the view is fab and the parcels of crochet, yarn and habby are arriving as fast as I can admire them! We are still working on some new features so keep your tips and requests coming and we’ll continue to improve your favourite crochet magazine.

PETAL BERET Transcend the seasons with this stunning hat (p70).
