AP US Government
This course will survey the complex subjects of US government and politics. Stu- dents will analyze in some detail the processes and institutions (both formal and informal) through which the political system functions and policy decisions are made. This analysis will include the Constitutional structure of Government, partici- patory politics, the formal institutions of power, the extra constitutional influences on those institutions, and public polity and individual rights and liberties.
This curriculum covers all of the material outlined by the College Board as neces- sary to prepare you to pass the US Government and Politics exam.

AP US History
AP U.S. History is a two-semester survey of American History from the age of ex- ploration and discovery to the present. The course is developed as a complete web -based course with multimedia instruction, assignments, discussion, and quizzes delivered online.
Emphasis is placed on critical and evaluative thinking skills, essay writing, interpre- tation of original documents, and historiography. The course will prepare students to take the College Board’s Advanced Placement U.S. History Exam.
Recommended: B grade or better in recent social studies course and good writing skills.
