nate research-based knowledge and its practical application to improve athletic performance and fitness. We offer two certifications for fitness pro- fessionals: the Certified Strength and Condition- ing Specialist (CSCS) credential and the NSCA-Cer- tified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) credential. The NSCA is the only fitness-related certifing agen- cy to have credentials accredited by the National Commission for Certifing Agencies (NCCA) since 1993. The NCCA measures the ability of certifing organizations in any industry to accurately discrim- inate between qualified and unqualified profes- sionals through psychometrically sound examina- tions. he vision of the Fitness Division of Saskatch- ewan Parks and Recreation Association (S.P.R.A.) is to encourage all residents of Sas-

Movement Therapies (IMT)® bridging somatic stu- ies, functional exercise and movement rehabilita- tion. The curriculum emphasises the study of Pilates as a study of movement rather than exercise. To highlight the importance of movement as a mode of self-expression as well as function, Integrat- ed Movement Therapies (IMT)® informs the Pilates technique as the basis for students to study the in- terface between functional and expressive move- ment, fitness, rehabilitation, and conscious living. IMT is an approach to movement education that has its roots in age-old traditions having evolved from yoga, dance, tai chi and the work of Rudolf Laban and Irmgard Bartenieff, called Laban Movement Analysis. Danielle Belec, Director of Second Wind is a former professional dancer originally certified in Pilates through Stott and Body Harmonics. She also trained in London at the Alan Herdman studio and later in New York at Jean Claude West’s early stu- dio. Danielle holds an Master of Arts in Movement Studies and is a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Move- ment Analyst (CMA), I.S.M.E.T.A.-Registered Move- ment Therapist, yoga practitioner, Yoga Therapist, founder of Integrated Movement Therapies (IMT)® and creator of Second Wind’s Pilates / IMT Certifica- tion Program.
