RECONNECT WITH YOUR CUSTOMER BASE
You already have a customer base,
so ask yourself what you have done lately to tell them that you are grate- ful that they chose to use your prod- uct. Often facilities sign up mem- bers and “hope” they keep coming. Hope is not an action, so act to keep them coming. Use campaigns to get your clients in more often and bring- ing their friends and co-workers. Have customer appreciation events, calls to members who have fallen off, and most importantly, talk to your customers face to face whenever possible.
STRENGTHEN YOUR BUSINESS RELATIONS
Whether it is your suppliers or
businesses that buy your products, the B2B relationship must be culti- vated like any other. Check in with your suppliers about the things they
are doing to earn your business and to let them know about your needs and how they may have changed. You may be able to take advantage of cost savings for things you will need anyway in the long run.
STRENGTHEN “THEIR” COMMUNITY RELATIONS
The best way to create meaning-
ful, long-term connections with your customers is to connect with them through their community. Understand their community and what is important to it and reach out to it. This may include open-hous- es, discounts for people living with- in walking distance (connects to a green impact as well) or to causes that are important such as school fund raisers, families in need or other worthy causes. For some, the year ahead will spell
hardship, and for a few, even bank- ruptcy. Regardless of your current state of business you can control what you do today. If you are willing to invest a little time reinforcing your ship, you will navigate your business through any storm.
