The MFC establishes scope and standards of

practice, and direction of fitness leadership and appraisal through training, education, consulting and networking. The MFC accreditation is the ac- knowledged standard for fitness leaders in Mani- toba and has representation of membership from across the province. Today, leaders can be trained in different specialty areas: Group Fitness, Aquat- ic Fitness, Resistance Training, Active Older Adult and the Individual Fitness Leader. The MFC is also responsible for the training and registration of Certified Personal Trainers and Certified Exercise Physiologists for the Canadian Society for Exer- cise Physiology (CSEP).
