Through its Fitness Leadership Pro- gram, the BCRPA acts as a regulatory body by collab- oratively developing, recognizing and promoting pro- vincial standards for the training and registration of fitness leaders in BC. The program has a current reg- istration of over 3,500 leaders and has gained recog- nition as the standard against which the qualifications of a fitness leader may be measured in BC. Areas of registration include: Group Fitness, Aquatic Fitness, PIlates Fitness, Yoga Fitness, Weight Training, Person- al Training, Third Age, Adapted Fitness and Osteofit. Registration fees automatically includes $2million of liability insurance valid for teaching anywhere in Can- ada (Personal Trainers must purchase their own poli- cy).
