APD reductions attract families to the Caribbean
THE Caribbean is hoping to welcome more families
to the
region this summer as a family of four can now save nearly £200 on air fares, due to recent changes in Air Passenger Duty (APD). As of May 2015, children under 12 are now exempt from Air Passenger Duty (APD) and this will be extended to children under 16 from March 1, 2016. Including the £56 saving as
a
result of the four-band APD system changing to a two-band system earlier this year, families will find more competitive flight prices to the region.
“Families travelling to the
Caribbean will really benefit from the reduction in APD. I hope these changes will incentivise those planning a long haul holiday to experience some of the great family-friendly products in the Caribbean,” says Carol Hay, Director of Marketing for the Caribbean Tourism Organization. Family travellers choosing the
Caribbean can offer their children a truly,
authentic experience
including sea turtle conservation whale and dolphin watching.
