By the way, in case you do not know, if you look at any dice, you will find that all the opposite numbers add up to 7! Tose born on the 7th day of the month should take 7 as their lucky number, as this brings them incredible good fortune.

The Christian church is full of

references to the number 7 and thus there are seven graces, seven heavens, seven days in a week, seven deadly sins,

strong hostility and conflict. In Flying Star feng shui, the connotations of 3, which by the way rule the year 2015, are hostile and ferocious. Te number 3 causes things to go wrong, people to get angry and conflict to break out for the smallest of reasons. But this number can be exhausted by the energy of Fire, symbolized by the brightness of the colour red!

Middle Number Syndrome Many people believe that the middle number bring problems. Tus if you are the middle child in a family, chances are you suffer bad luck and misfortune, missing out on the love of the mother, who tends to favour the eldest child, and the father who tends to favour the youngest child. Likewise, in a family or grouping that comprises 5 children or 7 people, it will be the child or person sandwiched as the third/fifth oldest or youngest, whichever way you look at it, who will somehow have to endure the most amount of bad luck, and is usually the one missing out on most things. Tus the Chinese always prefer to

have an even number of children to an odd number, preferring four to five, six to seven, although the number 9 is in a league of its own. Te number 9 is special, as we shall see.

Mathematical Magic of 9 There is amazing magic in the mathematics of 9, which is considered the greatest and most important number of all. Multiplied any number of times, the sum of the digits always adds up to 9. 9 multiplied by 2 is 18, which adds up to 9; multiplied by 3 is 27, which adds up to 9; multiplied by 4 is 36, which adds up to 9 and so on. Tis can be carried on ad infinitum and it still adds up to 9.

44 FENGSHUIWORLD | NOVEMBER 2015

All the holy numbers associated with Buddhism adds up to 9. Tus a mala (rosary) has 108 beads and this adds up to 9. When we recite prayers, we always recommend to recite in multiples of malas, so the resultant total will always add up to 9.

360 degrees of 9 More than just the mathematics of 9, this number is also associated with radiating light. How is this possible? Tink of the dot, which represents 360 degrees and draw a circle round it. Here 3+6=9; now when you cut the circle into two halves, you have angles of 180 degrees formed, which also adds up to 9; next, cut into four quarters and you have angles of 45 degrees, and this too adds up to 9. Keep cutting the circle evenly into any number of equal angles and you will find that the degree of every angle adds up to 9, until you have lines radiating outwards. Tis is because you can divide 360 by any number, and the angle adds up to 9. So all geometrical shapes add up to 9, and all light emitting outwards will do so in angles of 9.Te power of 9 is thus infinite and it cannot be anything but lucky.

Is 7 the Hidden Lucky Number? In many cultural traditions, the number 7 is a spiritually- charged number that brings enormous speculative luck. Indeed, gamblers love the number 7 and believe that if they roll this number the first time they play a dice game, it brings luck. Likewise if you win from the number 7 within the first three tries on the roulette wheel, you are sure to end the night winning big!

seven seas, and also seven wonders of the world. And yes, there are even seven dwarfs in the Snow White story! To the ancient Greeks, seven is considered the perfect number. It is the sum of 3 added to 4, the two numbers that create the triangle and the square, considered the two perfect shapes representing Fire and Earth. Many Jewish rituals are governed by these two shapes, the triangle and the square. Even the Chinese have their share of 7 significance; the lunar cycle is 28 days, which is 7X4, and every 7 days, the moon is said to start a new phase…

666 Devils number or is it really heaven tripled ? Tose of us who watched the movie THE OMEN came away from the film with a fear of the number 666, because we were told in the movie that this is the number of the devil, the number of the anti-Christ and thus a number to be avoided. But in Chinese feng shui, the number 6 stands for the Patriarch and for heaven, and when we repeat the number three times, it means heaven

tripled. Tus 666 is a heavenly number invoking heaven’s blessings, and it is best regarded as lucky!
