Tat weekend while I was at Faye’s house for Gracey’s birthday party, I decided to interfere with Faye’s marriage. I felt so sorry for her two children, who obviously loved their father and mother. Her daughter Gracey completely idolized her father… and for her birthday wish, she declared loudly to everyone, “My wish is for daddy to find a new job and be home for my next birthday.” Tat nearly broke my heart listening to this 11 year old who could have wished for a new toy or outfit but did not. I knew if this family carried on living in this house, they were sure to be headed for a very nasty divorce. Jason was also growing up very fast and needed his father to be around more. Tat night, I stayed back to help Faye with cleaning up the after-party

mess in her house. While cleaning up, I started to talk to her about feng shui… Being a Kiwi girl who’d never heard about feng shui, Faye was fascinated to learn about this “ancient Chinese method” of arranging houses

prosperity and happiness luck, so I took the opportunity to explain to her about the significance of the NW and SW sectors. I explained to her that houses with missing SW corners affect marriages… And also explained how a missing NW corner can result in the husband leaving the home or having work difficulties. I also stressed that the Chinese place such a lot of emphasis on family happiness as this is the essential ingredient for bringing up happy, well- adjusted and successful children. Faye listened intently. At times she looked as if she was going to cry. Not

once did I mention a word about her affair, but I could tell from her face that she realized that her marriage was in danger. She asked me a lot of questions about “fixing” the house so that it had better feng shui. And the following week, she surprised me by saying “I want to do some renovation work on our house so that it doesn’t have these problems you are talking about. Andy has always wanted a covered BBQ patio… will that work in making the BBQ area part of the house?” I was so thrilled that Faye asked me

for help. Immediately I drew up some recommendations for her to “reclaim” her Southwest and Northwest sectors of the house. I wanted to minimize the amount of “breaking down of walls” to keep it affordable, so we stuck to the “bones” of the house as much as possible:
