GETTING THERE Cambridge International Airport is located only three miles from Cambridge city centre and is close to all major road networks. It is easily accessible from regional centres, with cities such as Peterborough and Ipswich within an hour's drive of the airport; while Canary Wharf and East London are under an hour's drive away. The airport is currently offering free on-airport car parking for those arriving by road (valid until October 31). The airport also has good public transport links and can be easily accessed by rail. Cambridge station is a 45-minutes train ride from Kings Cross, London, then it’s just 15 minutes by taxi from the station to the terminal. Airport Lynx, the airport’s offi cial transfers operator, offers an airport bus shuttle between the airport and any point in Cambridge City Centre and surrounding areas. Pick-ups and drop-offs take place in their geographical order, with the rail station taking priority for those with trains to catch. The fare for this shuttle is £5.50pp each way. Alternatively, reliable, on-demand or pre-bookable taxi services are available through Airport Lynx, which has its own desk in the arrivals hall. •
TO EUROPE & BEYOND...
HOLLAND Amsterdam departures on
CityJet operate twice daily Monday-Friday and daily at weekends. Fares are priced from £68 one-way and £147 return. CityJet also offers direct seasonal flights onwards from Amsterdam to Avignon, Brive and Perpignan.
DUBLIN
Dublin flights are priced from
just £51 one-way and £98 return. Operated by Cityjet they depart twice daily Monday-Friday and daily at weekends. In tandem with these services there are also direct seasonal flights from Dublin to Brest.
JERSEY
Blue Island has been offering
regular services to Jersey from Cambridge since 2012. Working with tour operator C.I Travel, the airline offers summer packages with weekly departures every Saturday starting from £343pp. These have run for three years and are likely to be repeated for 2015.
