Choctaw Electric Cooperative held its 2013 annual meeting on September 28, 2013 at the Hugo Rodeo Arena. The official minutes of the meeting are as follows:


1. WELCOME 3.


Terry Matlock, CEO for Choctaw Electric, welcomed members and introduced special guests in attendance. Mr. Matlock introduced the Trustees and Attorney Bob Rabon.

Buddy Anderson, District D Rodney Lovitt, District I


Henry Baze, District E Joe Brisco, District F Bob Holley, District G Larry Johnson, District H


The Hugo F.F.A. and Choctaw County 4-H executed the posting of the colors ceremony. Kerrigan Matlock, Valliant F.F.A., led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Brenda Severson sang the National Anthem. Guy Dale delivered the invocation.


Mr. Matlock addressed the crowd. Mr. Matlock explained the plan of improvement for the dependability and overall quality of service for the members that has been ongoing for several years. The first phase of the plan has been completed. Mr. Matlock commended the employees, staff, and Board of Trustees for the effort it has taken to accomplish this. Now the second part of the plan has begun, which is to— without some unknown or unforeseen thing happening—lower the overall cost per kilowatt-hour(kwh).


Additionally, Mr. Matlock thanked the members for their attendance today and their continued support of the cooperative.

DECLARATION OF QUORUM


Attorney Bob Rabon reported the bylaws stipulate that 5% of the members must be present in order to conduct business at an annual meeting. As of September 28, 2013, Choctaw Electric had a total of 12,894 members, five percent of that total being 645. As of 11:00 a.m., 1,055 members had registered. Therefore, Mr. Rabon announced that a quorum was present and that the business meeting would proceed.


5. MINUTES OF ANNUAL MEETING 2012


Secretary/Treasurer Rodney Lovitt reported that the minutes of the business meeting conducted during annual meeting 2012 were published in the September 2013 issue of Inside Your Coop and made available at today’s meeting. President Mike Bailey asked for unanimous consent of the minutes as printed in the cooperative’s newsletter be adopted. There being no objection, the minutes were approved.


6. ADJOURN


There being no further business to come before the assembly the meeting adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
