- a place where TOYOTA has a long history. Multiple Japanese rally champion Fumio Nutahara piloted the TMG EV P002 to a new EV record of 10:15.380.
While TMG returned in 2013 with Rod Millen, bad weather prevented the TMG EV P002 improving on the record. The New Zealander, with three decades of experience on the mountain, said: “The acceleration is impressive; it pulls very smoothly and in a nice linear fashion. Maybe it’s because I’m old but I really had to adapt to the fact that an electric car has no gears and makes much less noise than traditional race cars.”
