By running as part of the popular VLN competition, teams enjoy the benefits of established infrastructure, a large fan following and the unbeatable Nordschleife atmosphere. With the Cup grid continuing to expand, TMG has already confirmed it will run again in 2015.

“We have proven it’s possible to have a safe, affordable car that’s not only fun to drive, but is also the fastest in its class,” says Nico Ehlert, TMG’s Principal Engineer Consumer Motorsport. “We call it fast, safe and sexy.”

Fast indeed, with all competitors expected to consistently post sub-10

minute lap times this year over the full 24.358 kilometre Nordschleife track, which includes most of the Grand Prix circuit.

“That’s our idea of customer motorsport,” says Nico. “We do not leave our customers alone. We always make sure we give them the best support and the best car.”

Jutta Beisiegel and Alexander Kudrass shared the 2013 TMG GT86 Cup title while Wolfgang Kudrass, also of Leutheuser Racing & Events, was second in the inaugural season. Leading female endurance driver Beisiegel was sold on the series from the first time she jumped in the car.

The Case for Customer Motorsport

Only possible once TMG became an independent business following TOYOTA’s withdrawal from F1, the customer motorsport programme makes obvious sense for everyone. From TMG’s perspective, adding another product to the portfolio of offerings alongside the WEC project and its advanced engineering services brings increased stability and visibility. While the WEC is top of the pyramid, customer motorsport also artfully leverages the 35 years of motorsport experience TMG has accumulated.

Customers love the cars, the cost-effective racing and the manufacturer factory support from TMG’s dedicated team.

The GT86 has won praise from owners and the motoring media around the world so what better way to spread the word about its performance, handling and reliability than on one of the world most famous race tracks. The only people not pleased with the programme are the other race competitors in the V3 class!
