Following TOYOTA’s withdrawal from F1 at the end of 2009, TMG modified its business model and became an engineering services supplier with clients, including

several former F1 rivals, from motorsport, automotive and industries further afield.

In 2014, TMG will push the boundary of technology once again through an ambitious programme in the WEC that engages all areas of the business. The company is leading the way for the cross-over of road-relevant technology from motorsport and even today it benefits from an impressive racing heritage dating back to the 1970s when Swedish rally driver Ove Andersson first got behind the wheel of a TOYOTA.

In 1979, Andersson moved his TOYOTA Team Europe outfit to Cologne and established the company known today as TMG. The era which followed, from 1982 with the Celica RA63 through to 1993’s 4WD ST185, chalked up four drivers’ and two manufacturers’ titles. Both the rear-wheel drive and later 4WD cars, with rugged construction and impressive engine torque, duly demonstrated TMG’s never-say-die approach together with a focus on reliability and performance. Eight victories on the gruelling African Safari Rally cemented this hard-earned reputation.
