Olympia Leader Posh Bikes: info@poshbikes.com

JOINING THE Olympia catalogue for 2014 is the Leader, the first from the label to carry road discs. Designed and perfected with the aid of virtual and

3D simulation software, the bike's main triangle revolves around an aerodynamic head tube joint that blends to create an air-slicing fin. At the rear, Olympia has opted for a very short and compact lower chain stay, to guarantee optimal speed and response. The bike will be available with the latest and newest Shimano Ultegra Di2 Discs, Shimano wheels and FSA componentry. For this reason, the left stay of the fork appears to be slightly off set with respect to the right stay, with a slightly larger and shaped section, to facilitate brake movements. The frame uses mainly carbon fibres T800s, T700 and M30, which are strategically positioned according to the points of highest stress and according to the target weight.

Lightrider Direct: mechelle@lightrider.co.uk

LIGHTRIDER TAKES a different approach to bike lighting, turning the spotlight on the rider as well as the road. Appearing at The London Bike Show, the light,

invented by Tudor Davies, provides uber visibility of the cyclist even at T-junctions when a car’s headlights are often pointed away from the cyclist. The road beam is a one-watt LED providing 80 Lumens output and there are three modes – full beam, flashing full beam and flashing commuter mode. USB chargeable (eight hours), this British designed product has been three years in production and a good portion of that time has been spent on programming clever battery management into it. The firm is seeking IBDs – contact Mechelle Bonnallie for more details at mechelle@lightrider.co.uk.
