Each job also includes the call location and an indication of the “difficulty” level for new operators. A typical arrival/departure sheet for Nel- son yard shows departing trains with their anticipated departure times marked by the colored rows (above right). Uncolored rows
are for inbound trains. The color corresponds to the car forward- ing scheme, making it easy to see which cars are for which trains. Maximum train length, caboose number and power as- signments are also noted as is it actual departure time. The su- perintendent provides the dispatcher with the train line up (be- low) for the trains to be called for each session.
