Energy Efficiency Tip of the Month

Northfork Electric is weeks away from launching our new and improved billing statements. Lisa Dailey, NFEC man- ager of office services, has been overseeing the transition. “We are at the final stages of development and putting the final touches on our software programming. Once this is completed and tested, we’ll debut the finished product to our members,” said Dailey. The most noticeable chang- es to the billing statements are the increased size and more favorable format. Members cur- rently receive their monthly bills printed on a small postcard. The new statements will be dramati- cally larger, and will be mailed out in envelopes to protect members’ personal information. “Our new statements will be printed on an 8.5” x 11” standard sheet of paper. This will give us the needed space to share important cooperative news and information with our members, as well as to pro- vide them with a clearer, more comprehensible statement,” said Dailey.

The new format will include a description of charges, the previous balance, energy charge, payments received, and the cur- rent amount due.

There will also be a bar graph showing the monthly energy usage for the previous 12 months.

In addition to the improved size and layout, the new state- ments will come with a return envelope. “We hope our mem- bers will appreciate this conve- nience, and take advantage of it,” she said.

Dailey explains the back of the redesigned statement will be utilized as well. “Information on how to read your bill and a des- ignated area to request a change of address or phone number will be provided.”

Members can expect to receive more information and a first look at the new billing statements in an upcoming mailer from the cooperative.
