dramatically,” said Cathe Fox, executive director of the center. “Our plan is to expand the exercise off erings and incorporate a nutritional component in the coming year.” OEC Foundation President Vivian Gibson said, “It’s no secret that

physical activity is one of the major cornerstones of maintaining a healthy body and lowering risk of disease, but it also contributes to mental health and psychological empowerment. By supporting this initiative, OEC members are playing a small role in improving the lives of those in our community.” T e grant was one of a dozen awarded at the OEC Foundation meeting

on Dec. 12. An additional $8,347 was awarded to individuals/families to provide a variety of needs—winter clothing, food, dental and vision assistance, and educational aid. OEC Foundation grants are made possible by co-op

members who ‘round-up’ their electric bills. Collectively, more than $18,300 is given monthly to help individuals and nonprofi t organizations in the OEC service territory. Applications returned by Feb. 2 will be reviewed for consideration at

a meeting on Feb. 6. Forms —organizational and individual/family—are available at http://bit.ly/oec-oru. If you have questions about the program or application process, please call Patti Rogers, Operation Round Up coordinator, at 405-217-6710.
