Three bikes – myself and Debbie on a Victory Vision, Kelvin and Jayne Halloran of BMAD fame aboard their Victory Vegas 8 Ball and Harley-Davidson Dyna Glide respectively.

Paris by 1030 after a very early

start. The Eiffel Tower was amazing and a lot bigger than you might imagine. Champs Ellyses, The Arc De Triumphe, the art gallery then on to the Pompidou Centre.

Back to Formulae One hotel, then out for a traditional French dinner of kebab – marvellous. Had people gathering around the bike while loading it in the morning wanting to have their picture taken with it.

Onto the peripherique with lots of French nutters on the road. After seeing the Eiffel Tower twice we realised there was an inner and outer peripherique and

got on the outer one, Reached Freiburgh Im Brassau at the end of a 380 mile day. Another 350 miles on

mountain roads brought us to Seefeld where the hotel was staffed by crazy women. Susie the barmaid and the waitress were straight out of Fawlty Towers which may have explained why the guests in the hotel were all English. Decided to go and watch the brass band competition just as it finished – bugger!

Down a very steep hill into Innsbruck past the Olympic ski jump and over the Brenner Pass which was very cold at the top. It was here that we fetched up behind an English HOG Chapter and overtook them which wasn’t difficult.

Soon we were into Italy without knowing it. Did you know that if

you ride a black Harley with incredibly high ape hangers you can overtake anywhere and are immune to other road users? After a night at Worthersee we got up early for a swim, discovered some cotton wool buds in the bathroom and learned that if you put them in your ears

you go deaf.

Rode into Faak am See for what is known as Europe’s Sturgis. It’s amazing with the16km road round the lake made one way for the bike week. There was a huge trade village and Harley-Davidson village and just about every country in
