Travel stories: It’s pointless asking if the editor would like a travel story until he’s seen both the words and the pictures. You may as well ask a bloke if he fancies a girl you don’t have a picture of and can’t describe.
General events: Pictures of bikes parked amidst acres of asphalt are of limited interest. If you’re photographing an event with a theme, try and put together a picture that reflects that theme.
My bike features: To avoid the washing line in the background effect, lie on the ground and shoot upwards; you’ll be amazed how much clutter vanishes.
