Orthman Manufacturing was born in the 1960s when Henry Orthman began offering machine ideas and modifi cations fi rst to his neighbors, and then to the general public. The Orthman TripSaver was an early innova- tion, a cultivator with a second toolbar, allowing throwing in and out on the same pass. Henry was also a pioneer of the 5x7 and 7x7 hollow tube rather than solid bar, used still today. Orthman developed and patented many other innovations over the years, including toolbars, folding systems, implement steering systems and many more. His revolutionary “internal folding cylinder” was a turning point for the com- pany, and the industry. The Orthman market expanded from central Nebraska to the Midwest, then to the Southern Delta, across the United States, and now internationally, with dealer networks in more than 20 coun- tries in Europe, Australia and Africa.
