PROFILE Amazonen-Werke ABOUT AMAZONE

Amazone was founded in 1883 in Hasbergen-Gaste, Germany, by Heinrich Dreyer. The fi rst machine to reach serial production was a grain cleaning machine. Later plows, cultivators and potato sorters were introduced. In 1915, the fi rst fertilizer spreader was produced. Dreyer began exporting his goods early on. In 1906 he sold the fi rst grain cleaner to Chile.

The company reached market leadership in the 1960s with the twin-disc ZA fertilizer spreader and D4 seed drill.

In 1967, Amazone entered into tillage, developing their fi rst PTO-driven tillage equipment that could be combined with a seed drill.

Today, Amazone is owned and operated by the fourth generation of the Dreyer family; Christian Dreyer and Dr. Justus Dreyer. The company is 100% family owned and has several manufacturing plants:

• Headquarters: Hasbergen-Gaste, Germany • Hude, Germany • Leeden, Germany • Leipzig, Germany • Forbach, France • Samara, Russia In many European and Eastern European countries, Amazone has company owned sales subsidiaries, while in other countries importers/ distributors are used.
