Dealer Information Systems Corp. is the largest independent provider of business com- puter systems to farm and equipment dealerships in North America. They currently sup- port more than 2,500 equipment dealership locations. Founded in 1980, DIS began as a software company and quickly grew to provide full dealership business systems, includ- ing hardware, software, networking, data conversion, installation and training.


During the past decade, DIS acquired several companies offering information technology products and services to farm equipment dealerships. These acquisitions added to their growing family of products and technologies, and to their already highly-skilled staff.


Soon after 2000, as Internet speeds increased, DIS began offering ASP (hosted) deal- ership systems to complement their widely accepted in-house systems. Although the terminology has recently changed to Cloud Computing, DIS has long been at the fore- front of using the Internet to support dealership operations. DIS now offers a family of web-based solutions supporting dealership staff, along with web apps specifi cally for use by dealership customers. Customers access new DIS mobile and web apps, like DIS Parts Store and DIS MyAccount, transparently through the dealership’s own website. DIS Mobile and web-based applications are rapidly growing to meet the needs of their equipment dealership customers.
