THE UK eSports scene is seriously lagging behind Europe, North America and Asia, says UK events organiser Gfinity.


The firm is one of the companies flying the flag for eSports in Britain, and its next event – G2 – kicks off this week (Saturday October 12th)at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden.

In its five years, the focused four hour conference and following network event has attracted attendees and speakers from around the world. 300 will attend this year’s event, which features talks from 12 other influential games industry execs including analyst Michael Pachter, Sports Interactive’s Miles Jacobson, PlayStation’s Shahid Ahmad and Twitter UK chief Bruce Daisley. Event partners include Vicon, ARM, Testronic Labs and OPM. The final schedule and speaker line-up will be announced next week.

our early success and progress the eSports infrastructure here in the UK.” The first Gfinity event took place on July 13th and 14th. It attracted 2.56m viewers over streaming services, and the firm’s website was accessed 660,000 across the period.


The next event, G2, is specifically targeted at Call of Dutyplayers with $70,000 up for grabs.
