Football Manager gets four month advertising campaign
It will be the longest marketing push in the history of the management franchise, says Sega by Christopher Dring
THE TV campaign for Football Manager will last almost four months. Sega has revealed to
MCVthat FM 2014will be backed by the longest ad blitz in its history, headlined by 20-second TV ads around all live Premier League games, plus selected Championship and Champions League matches. The campaign is already underway, as it started in September during the Manchester derby, and will last until the end of December. Football Manageris Sega’s biggest marketing effort this Christmas, with Nintendo on publishing
duties for Sonicthis year. The FMcampaign will also include a cover wrap and

advertorial in Sport magazine, plus pre-roll and digital advertising across all the individual club sites of the Football League. The firm will also be advertising across
SkySports.comand mobile advertising on the Sky Sports apps, including take- overs on the score centre app on selected match days. A week-long programme of radio activity will appear on TalkSport, and there will be outdoor 48-sheet poster campaigns across London in November and December. Football Manager 2014 launches on October 31st for PC. A Vita version has yet to be dated.

Sony’s TV activity for Beyond kicked off in August as part of the platform holder’s wider ‘The time to own a
PlayStation is now’ campaign. This began back in August and saw Beyondactivity appear alongside the UK Box Office release of Elysium. This marketing continued through September with activity across Sky Pub TV and video- on-demand content.

Digital advertising for Beyond will be placed across specialist games websites, whilst launch activity will also appear on IMDB and music streaming service Spotify.

Sony has partnered with retailers to offer a limited Special Edition of Beyond. The SKU is being offered at the same price as the standard edition to help drive early pre-orders. With a steelbox case, the Special Edition also offers consumers an exclusive extra in-game scene, soundtrack, making of featurettes and avatar pack.
OUTDOOR
Beyond was given the red carpet treatment as Sony showcased the title with a premiere in Paris, with lead actors Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe in attendance. The Hollywood stars also led Sony’s wider BeyondPR campaign with a series of interviews on the game.
