EA HOLDS the top spot this week with FIFA 14.
The game didn’t
quite match the launch week sales of last year’s iteration. But it appears FIFA 14may have a stronger tail. In its second week the game’s sales fell by 68 per cent, while FIFA 13’s sales dropped by 72 per cent. Of course, FIFA 14has still to come out on Xbox One and PS4.
Grand Theft Auto V closed the gap on FIFA. The title suffered a mere 34 per cent drop, despite still being in short supply, and was just 31,000 units behind EA’s soccer title. GTA Vby ROCKSTAR has incredibly already beaten the lifetime sales of GTA IVand is already the 12th best-selling game in UK video games industry history.
There is a large sales gap between second place and the remaining Top Ten, despite a number of new games. The highest charting new title is F1 2013from CODEMASTERS at No.3, charting one place ahead of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
HD.The Wii U remake of the 2003 Zelda title has bolstered sales of NINTENDO Wii U hardware by almost 700 per cent.
Also new in the Top Ten this week is NBA 2K14 by 2K GAMES, which makes its debut at No.7, while UBISOFT sees its latest Just Dancegame arrive at No.9.
Chart-Track revealed that half of this week’s Top Ten are sequels to games that were in the Top Ten during the same week last year.
Meanwhile, in the XBLA Chart, Terrariaovertakes Minecraft following a price promotion.
