OFF THE RECORD
THE X/Y FACTOR
If you’re looking to establish your musical credibility, dressing up as Pikachu and sitting in front of a room of bemused journalists is probably not the best thing to do. But X Factorsemi finalists Union J are not interested in musical credibility, these boys like Pokémon. And they’re not just pretending to like Pokémon. They really, really like it. The band has rebranded itself to Union XY for the launch of Pokémon Xand Y today (Friday, October 11th). And Josh, Jaymi, George, and JJ proved their Pokénerd credibility by comfortably answering questions, coming up with new Pokémon (‘Mega Jaymizard’) and even suggested Simon Cowell could be the new leader of Team Rocket.
