Elks National Foundation Gratitude Grants in Action


The Durango, Colorado, Lodge used its $2,000 ENF Gratitude Grant to help support a nine-day community Safety Town program for children ages five to seven, which included a traffic safety exercise.


HANKS are due to all the lodges that supported the Elks National Foundation by meeting the GER’s 2012–2013 per member giving goal. Those lodges that met this goal qualify for a $2,000 Elks National Foundation Gratitude Grant, which they can use to address needs in their communities. Last year, two lodges, the Eugene, Oregon, Lodge and the Durango, Colorado, Lodge, used their ENF Gratitude Grants to serve those around them and to raise their lodges’ profiles in their communities. The Eugene, Oregon, Lodge used its Gratitude Grant to provide meals at a stand down for veterans and active-duty members of the armed forces and their families, and the Durango, Colorado, Lodge used its Gratitude Grant to help host a nine-day Safety Town safety training program for young children in its community.
