Candidates for Grand Lodge Office
Whereas, His record of leadership, dedication, and devotion to the Order has earned him the respect, admiration, and gratitude of all Elks, and most especially the officers and members of the Ocala, Florida, Lodge; now therefore Be it resolved, That the officers and members of Ocala, Florida, Lodge No. 286 are honored and privileged to present at the 2013 Grand Lodge Convention in Reno, Nevada, the name of our fellow member, Winston M. Needham, as a candidate for the office of Grand Esteemed Leading Knight of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America.

Redding, California, Lodge Presents Sim Nathan for Grand Esteemed Loyal Knight Whereas, the officers and members of Redding, California, Lodge No. 1073 do recognize Sim Nathan’s accomplishments and appreciate the dedi- cation and leadership he has rendered to his lodge, the California-Hawaii Elks Association, the Grand Lodge, and to his community; and
Whereas, He has been a member of the Redding Lodge for fifty- two years, has served his lodge and state diligently as a member of many committees, has progressed through all the chairs, was elected exalted ruler in 1983–1984, served as All-State Loyal Knight in 1981, is a life member, and was Elk of the Year in 2010; and Whereas, He has served the California-Hawaii Elks Association as state tiler, association trustee, and major project trustee chairman and served as vice president at large in 1996–1997 before serving as state president in 1997–1998 and serving as chairman of four state association midterm meetings that were held in Redding each No- vember beginning in 1985; and Whereas, He served the Grand Lodge as district deputy for the North District under GER James Damon in 1990–1991 and served as the Area 7 member on the Americanism Committee from 2007 to 2010, the last two years as chairman; and Whereas, He is a graduate of California State University at Chico, spent many years in the retail business, owned his own business from 1968 to 1995, and was president of the Local Campfire National Association, the Downtown Redding Mall Merchants Association, and the Redding Chamber of Commerce; and Whereas, His record of distinguished and dedicated service to his community, profession, and fraternal life has been matched by his
