Newport, OR, Lodge members awarded $1,000 scholarships to Newport High School students Kacie Hargett and Matt Haynes. Lodge members also awarded $500 scholarships to Newport High School student Odessa Goudy and Waldport High School student Elliott Webb and awarded the $500 Orval Hoech Award to Newport High School student Deklyn Wood. The students were presented with their awards at a ceremony at the lodge. In other news, the lodge held its annual community Christmas dinner, which was attended by 375 people from the community. Lodge members and other volunteers also prepared 200 additional meals for pickup or delivery. The lodge held the dinner with the help of a $2,000 ENF Gratitude Grant and received nearly $470 in donations for lodge charities during the event.


Portland, OR, Lodge members attended a Court of Honor ceremony for new Eagle Scouts Quentin Larsen and Sidney Suggs, of Boy Scout Troop 405, and gave each of them a certificate and a US flag. For his Eagle Scout Project, Larsen designed and built a raised wooden tent platform and a covered eating area for campers at the JD


Currie Youth Camp in Camas, WA. For his Eagle Scout Project, Suggs built and installed seven birdhouses, three bee habitats, and two bat houses in Arbor Lodge Park in Portland. Pictured with Eagle Scouts Larsen (left) and Suggs (right) is Youth Activities Committee Chairman Ralph Hartmann.


Oak Ridge, TN, Lodge Charity Golf Tournament Committee donated funds to the Emory Valley Center of Oak Ridge ($500), which assists individuals with developmental disabilities; the Free Medical Clinic of Oak Ridge ($500), which provides free medical treatment to people
