Keene, NH, Lodge hosted an open house for representatives of 20 local nonprofit organizations so that they could provide the public with information about their organizations’ activities. Lodge members provided refreshments to everyone who attended the event and awarded door prizes to 30 of the attendees. In other news, lodge members recognized Cedar Grove Ambu-


lance and Rescue Squad Ambulance Lieutenant Sandy Huber as their local hero in a ceremony at the lodge. Lodge members pre- sented Huber with a plaque and donated $100 to the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad. In more news, the lodge donated an Elks Heritage Corner Kit to St. Catherine of Siena School. The display kit contains copies of impor- tant documents in US history, including the Declaration of Indepen- dence, the US Constitution and Bill of Rights, and the Gettysburg Address. The lodge also provided dinner to 45 volunteers who took part in Fat Tuesday, a two-mile run that is a fund-raiser for the Cedar Grove High School music department.


Lacey, NJ, Lodge held a teen dance fund-raiser and raised $700 for lodge charities. More than 150 people attended the dance.


Lambertville, NJ, Lodge Operation Friends program donated 11 boxes of children’s clothing, school supplies, blankets, and other gifts to families displaced by Hurricane Sandy.


Mahwah, NJ, Lodge and the Mahwah Fire Department cohosted a pancake breakfast fund-raiser and raised more than $3,500 for a local


family that had lost everything in a house fire. Nearly 280 people attended the event.


In other news, the lodge donated $1,000 to the UNICEF Newton Memorial Fund for the families of victims of the mass killing at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The lodge also donated $1,000 to the New Jersey State Elks Association’s Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. Addi-
