Howell, NJ, Lodge sponsored four Howell High School students to attend the New Jersey State Elks Association’s annual Peer Leader- ship Conference, which encourages young leaders to discover their potential by creating a clear set of goals for themselves that includes living a drug free life and inspiring others to do the same. Allegheny, PA, Lodge members honored the winners of their Drug Awareness Poster and Essay Contests in a ceremony at Pittsburgh Allegheny K-8 School. Lodge members pre- sented each winner with a gift card. The winner of the essay contest was sixth-grade student


Amirah Winston and the winner of the poster contest was fourth- grade student Martha Covarrubias Garcia. The lodge held the con- test in cooperation with the Northside Leadership Conference and the Allegheny General Hospital Northside Partnership. Holiday Isles, FL, Lodge members awarded plaques and gift cards to the five winners of the lodge’s Drug Awareness Poster Contest in a ceremony at their school. Lodge members also gave a certificate to each student who participated in the contest. The winners were Naomi Vargas (who won first place), Tyler Crockenburg, Jenna Davenport, Brianna Page, and Jaedyn Toscano.


Rockville, IN, Lodge donated $250 to the Rockville Police Depart- ment to assist the department’s drug awareness activities.


Ocean City, MD, Lodge made a donation of $500 to Stephen Decatur High School to support the school’s drug- and alcohol-free after prom party.
