with you to create a trip that complies with your travel dates, group fitness level, and budget. Planning a multi- generational reunion? Let us plan an itinerary in your family’s homeland, visiting places of interest to your own heritage. Or perhaps you and some old friends have a bucket-list trip in mind. Let us plan a dream trip for you, including much of what you have talked about. As with any Wayfarers Walk, you never have to worry about logistics, making reservations, finding restaurants, booking transportation, or anything else.

You might begin with an existing Wayfarers itinerary and tweak it to fit your needs and interests. Jill Gamble of Laguna Beach, California is a five-time Wayfarers’ walker. She recently joined 14 of her college friends on a Wayfarers walk on the Isle of Wight. “Several of the group had walked with The Wayfarers before, so when we realized that this walk was established already, it was a perfect match,” said Jill. “We had a Leader and Manager who were very much attuned to the nature of our interests, spontaneously altering the walk to make it as perfect as possible for us. We were also able to manage the timing and length of the walk ourselves.”

A few years ago, Judy Allpress of The Wayfarers’ Newport office invited some friends on the Croatia Discovery trip, including a woman of Croatian descent whose family had been in the shipping business before the war. “We walked on her family’s former property of olive groves on the island of Brac,” recalled Judy. “Ante, our Walk Leader, had located her beautiful family villa, with its sea views and a lovely garden. It had been converted into a home for the elderly; it was very touching.”

It takes one person to get the ball rolling, says Judy. “Once a few friends decide to take one of our walks, the word spreads like wildfire. Each person knows one or two people who know one or two people and suddenly there's a dozen!”
