EXHIBITIONS First edition of Fastener Fair Thailand a success
Organisers reported that over 3,000 fastener and fixing professionals attended Thailand’s and South East Asia’s first event dedicated to the fastener and fixing industry held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) from 6th
– 8th T
he event was formally opened by the chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries - Khun Payungsak Chartsutipol, the president of the Thai Auto-parts Manufacturers Association - Khun Achana Limpaitoon
and the acting president of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau - Khun Thongchai Sridama. Approximately a third of exhibitors were from the Thai and
ASEAN (Association of South East Asia Nations) Region with also a strong representation from Taiwan and China. Over 130 exhibitors were represented from 11 different countries displaying products and services ranging from fastener manufacturing machines and inspection equipment to precision fasteners and bespoke anchoring solutions. A total of 2,418 professionals visited the show from 47 different
countries across the world. 63% of the visitors were from Thailand alone and 70% came from the ASEAN region. The total attendance for the event over the 3 days reached 3,006 visitors.
Ecobuild is back and looking to the future
Ecobuild 2012 brought together over 57,000 of the design and construction industry’s most influential professionals including the largest gathering of architects in the UK. Major investment from organiser UBM Built Environment will see a wealth of new features and content showcased at Ecobuild 2013 to be held on 5th
– 7th
and discussions, focusing on pressing issues facing the industry. Following significant investment into the green credentials of the show,

a ‘Working with Nature Zone’ will reinforce the importance of the natural environment in sustainable design and construction. This brings together the DEFRA backed, Green Infrastructure pavilion; ‘Natural, Sustainable’, which will comprise of daily interactive demonstrations. The ‘Biodiversity Pavilion’ will provide practical advice on how to create a rich bio-diverse environment, even in the grittiest urban environment. fixing trade, with 22% of the visitors representing Thailand’s vast manufacturing and assembly end user sectors. The visitors also reflected the regions strength in the auto (22%), electronics (13%) and construction (18%) markets. 67% of visitors were of manager level or above. The remainder of the visitors were technical engineers or specifiers from end user organisations. Exhibition Director Michael Wilton commented: “We were
pleased with the level of business activity we witnessed over the three days of the show. The hall was busy with suppliers, manufacturers and end users for fasteners using the event to strengthen their respective business. With the backdrop of encouraging feedback from both the exhibitors and visitors at Fastener Fair Thailand, plans are already afoot for the second edition of the show in 2013.” Fastener Fair Thailand 2013 will be held at the Bangkok Trade and Exhibition Centre from 9th

involvement, which will give visitors the opportunity to see leading products from Arrow Fasteners, Bulldog Tools, Channellock, Estwing and Mechanix Wear, all of which are distributed by Rollins. Renewals from the 2012 show include Am-Tech,
Trendsure and Winbag, and companies returning after a break from the show include Bison Adhesives and Yale. Brintex, organisers of the show, is busy urging
leading DIY brands to support the show. Sales Director Paul Grinsell said: “We hope everyone in the market is getting the message that we are doing things differently this year and that suppliers and manufacturers will give the show their support as exhibitors. We want to give the industry a show to be really proud of, a ‘must attend’ event!”
