Lederer - Fasterer, Biggerer, Cleverer
The new Lederer Shop 2.0 has been live and online since mid-October. L
ederer point out that after six successful years, almost a million search requests, well over 100,000 orders and what it says has seemed like 1,000 ideas and suggestions, it was time to make a new start – or to put it another way, a relaunch. The design of the Lederer Shop 2.0 has been enhanced and the bodywork, interior and
dashboard has been overhauled and improved. It has also been equipped with a new and faster engine allowing it to understand five languages. Lederer says that the improved and optimised programming makes an increase of up to 300% in speed possible. This means
that customers can save time, as searching, finding and ordering procedures take place at intervals of just a few seconds. The working area has been enlarged and adapted to current screen sizes. At the same time, the tabular presentation has been
enhanced and made easier to understand so that customers can choose the number of results to be displayed. This means that they can now achieve maximum functionality and efficiency. Lederer explains that the shop now offers even more comfort and utility. In all the search actions with indicated
quantities, a new quick availability display informs the user directly about the articles’ availability, while articles with partial quantities can also be displayed on request, at the press of a button. The quick shopping basket view immediately shows the user how many items are already in the shopping basket. As well as the improved handling and depiction of delivery addresses, users of the new Lederer Shop can now also send the full shopping basket by e-mail or open it directly in MS Excel.
Two become one
Kerridge Commercial Systems Limited (KCS) has announced the acquisition of Datawright Limited.
Sweden, UAE and the USA. KCS, based in Hungerford, Berkshire, UK, with its leading
B
K8 solution, specialises in business management solutions to the distribution industry. The company has operations in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and South Africa supporting customers in 15 countries. Ian Bendelow, CEO of KCS, comments: “We are very
pleased to make this strategic acquisition. As our customers in the distributive trades continue to take control of their supply chain, they are looking to differentiate themselves through offering value-added processes and many require their systems to have manufacturing functionality. As a consequence of this acquisition, our customers will be able to take advantage of a fully proven manufacturing module which will be added to the K8 system. Equally, I believe that the strength of the larger KCS group and its enhanced product capabilities will enable us to achieve growth in the manufacturing sector.” He added: “The two companies have known each other for
many years and share a common technology platform and we will immediately set about integrating the two systems to provide a single solution which will bring significant additional benefits to our customers. To reflect our new strategy Datawright will become KCS Manufacturing Solutions and Kingfisher will re-branded as K8 Manufacturing.”
ased in Washington, Tyne and Wear, UK, Datawright with its Kingfisher product, specialises in solutions for the manufacturing sector with a client base in the UK and an international presence in China,
Syspro provides new efficiencies
UK based Bowyer Engineering, a precision engineering company, is aiming to halve the time it spends on accounting after investing in a single integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) system from K3 Syspro.
S
YSPRO will replace the need for operating two separate systems for production control and accounting. The new software is fully customisable giving Bowyer Engineering easily accessible real-time information and
improved visibility of data. It will be tailored to the company’s exacting requirements which are currently managed by its bespoke production system. Bowyer Engineering explained that passing accounts
information between the production control system and the accounting software meant that too much time was spent on administration. Reporting was also limited with no way to conduct automated time keeping. With a large supply base to answer to, the company needed to concentrate on the core aspects of the business. SYSPRO will provide new efficiencies, cutting the time the company spends on accounts and allow it to respond quicker to customers. K3 prescribed a fully modular integrated system that is
customisable to support future software applications and add- ons and because it is almost a like-for-like system replacement, Bowyer Engineering will suffer very little disruption during the installation process. SYSPRO provides Bowyer Engineering with all system upgrades, giving the company total cost of ownership and protecting against further software investment. It comes complete with modules for control quotation, order intake, manufacturing control, and reporting; all modules that the previous system was lacking.
