PRODUCTS A cost-effective alternative
3M has added a high performance, yet cost-effective general purpose polyester tape to its industrial tapes range.
tape 8995 is a 60 micron tape with a polyester carrier and pressure sensitive silicone adhesive, which gives a tight bond for sharp edge lines. It is flexible and conformable, even round curved edges, with good tensile strength for tearing through cured paint or adhesive coatings. It offers clean removal up to temperatures of 200°C. Kirsty Horsfall of the 3M industrial adhesives and tapes division explained: “There are times in any industry when you need
I
a quality product at a competitive price and general purpose polyester tape 8995 offers a cost-effective alternative to some of the more specialised tapes. It is ideally suited for high temperature applications such as flash breaking in composite bonding, powder coat masking and splicing silicone and non-silicone coated papers.” Aimed at the aerospace, print and general industrial markets, general purpose polyester tape 8995 is also available in untrimmed logs and boasts competitive lead times.

cooling and filter systems, turbochargers and charged air applications. NORMA Group will start mass production of its new clamp, together
T
with a leading international producer of charged air and exhaust gas systems and a European passenger vehicle manufacturer, as soon as this year. The NORMACONNECT V PP profile clamp will be produced in in Gerbershausen, Germany, where around 1.3 million clamps will be manufactured in 2013. The new profile clamp has an integrated retaining clip which allows
the clamp to be prefixed during assembly, helping to eliminate the risk of tilting the screw during assembly. Easy to install using standard tools, the clamp helps to reduce assembly time. The profile clamp has been optimised for extremely tight packaging spaces making it suitable for motor vehicle applications such as exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, and charged air connections. Its low weight helps to reduce the overall weight of the systems.
