ORTHEAST Oklahoma Electric Cooperative is continually searching for ways to enhance the membership experience for our members and within our communities. One way we are demonstrating this committment is through the Co-op Connections Card program, which we first introduced in 2008. The Co-op Connections Card is a national discount card program that is free to cooperative members. It offers discounts of up to 60 percent on prescription drugs at participating pharmacies, as well as special discounts and deals from both local and national businesses.

Another benefit of co-op membership N

Pharmacy Discounts The Co-op Connections Card is not insurance, and cannot be used in conjunction with insurance, but it can help you get a great price on prescriptions that are not covered by your insurance. Also, the pharmacy can help you determine if the prescription price is lower with your insurance or with the card. Visit us online at www.neelectric.com and click on the card for a list of participating pharmacies.

Thanksgiving savings... (continued from page 3)

Give your furnace the day off—Winter’s holiday parties are a big part of the season, and most of us find ourselves with a houseful of people at least once between now and the New Year. If your next party involves a lot work for your stove, think about turning down your furnace to compensate. The heat of the oven—and all those guests—will keep the tempera- ture comfortable, and your furnace won’t have to work so hard.

Make contact—We’ve all got one in our kitchen—those warped and rounded pans that wobble when you set them on the stovetop. If you have a gas range, you can cook with warped pans to your heart’s content; those of us with electric ranges aren’t so lucky. Electric stovetops can only transmit heat to pans they are in direct contact with; the less contact your pan has with the burner, the more energy the stovetop will have to expend to heat the pan (and its contents). If cooking with your warped pan is taking longer than it should, it may be time for a flat-bottomed update. We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with

family, friends and enough food that you’ll enjoy tasty left- overs for days!

Own a business? If your business would like to participate in the Co-op

Connections Card program, please contact the cooperative public relations department by calling 918-256-9392 or emailing publicrelations@neelectric.com.

There’s an app for that!

The Co-op Connections Card app download is on the www.connections.coop website. You will find it on the lefthand side below the search function box. The app provides a virtual card (front and back) with vital prescription discount info on your phone. You can also use your phone’s GPS feature to find businesses that accept the card if any are nearby, and identify your favorite discount deals and save them in “My Deals” for easy access.
